Supporting Your PIP Application: Specialist Mental Health Assessments & Reports

Why is a Mental Health Professional's Report Beneficial for Your PIP Claim?

Applying for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) can be a complex process. We understand that clearly communicating how your mental health condition, alongside any disabilities, affects your daily life and mobility is crucial for your application.

As a disability specialist mental health counselling service, we offer dedicated PIP assessment services and professional reports designed to provide valuable, independent evidence to support your claim.

PIP is awarded based on the challenges you face with everyday tasks and getting around because of your health condition or disability. Mental health conditions can significantly impact these areas in ways that aren’t always visible or easy to explain.

Who Is This Service For?

This service is for individuals who are applying for or having a review of their Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and whose mental health condition and/or disability significantly impacts their daily living and/or mobility. This includes both our existing counselling clients and individuals who are new to our service but require a professional mental health assessment and report specifically for their PIP claim.

For Existing Counselling Clients: PIP Report Only £125

What You Get: You will receive a professional PIP report based on the knowledge and understanding of your mental health and its impact on your daily life that your counsellor has gained through your ongoing therapeutic work together. The report will summarise the relevant information from your counselling process that speaks to the PIP descriptors. This option is suitable because your needs have already been discussed and understood over a period of time. This price covers the professional’s time to carefully review their notes, synthesise the information, and write a comprehensive report specifically tailored for your PIP application, drawing on the existing therapeutic relationship.

Our Service Options & Pricing: Understanding What You Get

We offer two distinct service options, depending on whether you are an existing counselling client or are coming to us specifically for a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) assessment and report. This reflects the different levels of prior knowledge and dedicated time required to prepare the report.

For New Clients Seeking a PIP Assessment & Report £275

What You Get: This service includes a dedicated, standalone 50-minute assessment session specifically designed for your PIP application. During this session, a mental health professional will conduct a structured assessment, asking specific questions about how your mental health condition and any disabilities affect your daily living and mobility activities, directly addressing the PIP criteria.

Following this session, the professional will compile a comprehensive professional report based on the information gathered during this dedicated assessment. This price covers the professional’s time for the specific assessment session, the clinical analysis of the information, and the writing of the detailed report.

What to Expect:

The process depends on whether you are an existing or new client:

Existing Clients: You request the PIP report. Your counsellor will inform you if they have sufficient information from your previous sessions to write the report or if a brief check-in is needed.

Our PIP team will then prepare the report based on the knowledge we have of your needs.

New Clients: You will book and attend a dedicated 50-minute Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) assessment session. Following this session, we will write your report.

In both cases, the completed report will be sent to you to submit as part of your Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) application or review.
